This model has been tested in adjustment and dimensions in the model of the Mirage III E and R ( reconnaissance version ) of Italeri at 1/32 scale.

The Snecma ATAR now owned by Safran, is a powerplant used as an evolutionary base throughout successive french fighter-bomber models. It began to be designed in 1946 by a french development team lead by Hermann Oestrich, engineer participated in the german BMW 003 engine.

The ATAR 09 was used on the Mirage III, IV, V and F1 aircraft. As in other emblematic planes. The 09C was used on the Mirage III and V.

Pieces

The reactor is delivered disassembled in different unpainted sections to allow an easy painting of the interior parts.

The turbine and its deflector are also pieces apart, to permit the interior painting.

Mirage III model kit not included.

Assembly

It is very easy to assemble the parts of this engine. But needs an intense scratch work if you want to complete a good part of the fine pipelines that cover the engine.

This design has been made with advanced modelers in mind who are looking for outstanding realism. Contributing pieces prepared to facilitate this type of work.

Scratch

The parts have holes to insert the metal tubes that the modeler must add on his own if he wants to complete the medium gauge pipes.

These are not included in the model to avoid the artificiality of the bas-relief. The minimal but real separation between pipes and motor provide unbeatable hyperrealism.
